Looking to buy an auto darkening helmet PAPR combo, mostly for TIG. Optrel vs 3M vs Lincoln vs Miller. I have never owned one. Hard to know how accurate the internet reviews are. I'm more concerned about quality than price. Would rather pay more for something that will last and be reliable. Appreciate any experience you have (customer service, replacement parts, quality, field of view…).
I have a Miller 9400i papr. It's a bit bulky, decent field of view. I like the flip up feature that reveals a grinding mask. I find that i use it for heavy MIG and grinding more than anything else. Would not recommend for table top TIG. I would like a lighter papr hood for that purpose so i am interested in everyone's input.
Thanks Brian
Thats exactly the kind of info I am looking for. The welding shops around where i live dont keep PAPRs in stock.

I have an Optrel Panoramaxx 2.5 and a Swiss Air. I do bench TIG. I like the fact you can pull off the hood and still have the PAPR protection for fitting things up and grinding. I haven't had the Swiss Air very long so I can't 100% vouch for it. I wish the mask was a little smaller. Love the Panoramaxx hood, super light, and nice quality. The Auto pilot feature works great. CLT if you have the $, I've heard the clarity is awesome. You can get the Panoramaxx CLT/PAPR at USAWELD.com. Only place I've seen it advertised. Just FYI.
Thanks Matt
I am a big fan of USAWELD as I have the invertig 221
