Does anyone have any experience with Avani fume extractors? I know the Lincoln Xtractor is pretty popular but I found the Avani for about half price local to me.

I don’t have the best ventilation in my home shop and leaving the doors open gets cold in the winter. Do fume extractors work well enough that I can leave the doors closed and not wear a respirator?

I would think that would be fine. Any fume extraction is better than none. And you'd probably be ok with the doors closed with a fume extractor.

I agree with JD. I run a ventboss fume extractor I my shop with the doors closed. I even run it pointed at my plasma table.
