Like a lot of you I have 1/2 dozen welding hoods hanging on the wall. I am currently using a SpeedGlass that works well, but as Iam older and the old eyes are not what they used to be I am looking for something better. I noticed that in some videos the OPTREL hood is used. Are they really better and worth the high cost. The reviews on these hoods are all over the place and I appreciate any input and opinions.
I have the new lincoln viking 3350. I really like it alot. Way better than the old viking. The new lens is great. The puddle is super easy to see. The color is blue and not the old green. I also have a 2.0 cheeter in it. Works really well.
I was about to say what David did.... I have a speedglass, esab and Lincoln and I reach for the Lincoln the most
the Optrels are really nice. The automatic shade adjustment is slick AF. The newer high tech headgear is kinda janky. Get the old style if you go that way.
Anyone else have trouble with the super adjustable head gear with 4-5 straps a lot of brands have now?
BV I agree it took me a bit to get the 3350 headgear to fit just right. I thought the same. Seems kinda like they are over complicating things. The old headgear was super comfortable and easy to adjust.
