Hi Guys
I have had a Fronius Magic Wave 230i water cooled machine for just over 6 months, and I had someone change everything in the settings. Ive lost all my control settings for 3mm aluminium and really struggling to get back were I was. The Fronius reps keep changing and they have no experience with these machines and I listened and purchased everything they recommend even the ipulse pro option (waste of $1000 here in Australia)
Can someone point me in the right direction as ipulse pro seems to adjust differently to other parts of the setup. Ive just got out from hospital after a seizure ripped both my shoulders apart ( 16 screws and two plates in the right humeral head, x-ray looks like a porcupine) and the new medication is messing with my tolerance to sit down and read a poor users manual and. cant get the local support.
Thanks guys in advanced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
im not sure i understand what your asking. you didnt save the settings in the machine and want to see if theres a way to retrieve the settings somehow anyways ?
i have the iwave which i think is just a newer updated version of the magicwave. but heres the problem. i just got it a few months back and so far im only familiar with its basic functions. the advanced features i dont know much about yet. i have a manual for it ,along with a magicwave manual. ill look and see what it says regarding your question.
i think there should also be a nfc keycard for your machine so the settings can be locked from unauthorised use.
Cheers mate.
Fronius definitely have terrible manuals
honestly i think their manuals are fine for the most part. i wish they went into a bit more detail with some of the advanced features but otherwise i have no complaints
If I understand your question correctly you lost your settings for 3mm AL which included pulse settings in Pulse Pro. Unless you saved your settings in Jobs you will have to recreate them by trial and error. I would start with basic AL setup as far as frequency, balance and in Pulse Pro PPS, duration and background with Offset set to zero then go from there. The Pulse Pro feature came with my machine and later added CycleTIG. Have used both and the manuals were of some help but just spent time playing and practicing with scrap to understand how they actually function. You can always reset to factory default parameters as a last resort. My understanding is the Magic Wave was basically just rebranded as the iWave.
Roy listed his AL settings for me in a post awhile ago and will see if I can find them.
looking at the manuals for magicwave and iwave it seems they are largely the same but i dont know if theyre identical in every detail. iwave has pulse pro already installed. does it have to be purchased seperate for magicwave ? if so , i guess thats atleast one difference
Deichwerkstatt:
Thank you for the post. It would be helpful if you post the links to the online manuals. Although optional, Pulse Pro is included in some Magic Wave packages from vendors. My 230i which I bought from Baker's included it.
deichwerkstatt on the 230i front main screen it has amps ,balance ,auto cap shape etc. to find and adjust frequency you have to go into the tig section. is there a way to put frequency on that front main screen so it can be adjusted more quickly ?
AC balance will appear on the main screen if the machine is set to AC. If set to DC- it won't appear.
