Has anyone used the Millermatic 255 for vertical pulse? Was trying over the weekend on .250 steel plate with .035 wire running 90/10 using a bunch of different settings and just couldn't get it to work. Finally went to short circuit with 75/25 with .030 wire and no issues. If anyone has had success with vertical pulse would you mind sharing you settings. Thanks.
At work I run the Miller Intelex Pro and have also experienced trouble running uphill on pulse. It doesn't like to run clean at the lower settings on 0.035" wire. Unless you have a very wide joint that you can weave across and let the otherside freeze its gonna fall out. Also, it can be troublesome to get it started. The puddle needs a "shelf to sit on while it solidifies. I've used a scrap piece at the bottom like a "right angle run-on tab, and blasting a bunch of "fat tacks" at the bottom to act like a dam. If the puddle can't hit any cold metal on the way...it will continue in the direction of gravity. All in all, to pulse spray in the vertical, you need it set low enough that you can out run the puddle going side to side.
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. Tried again today and was able to get a decent profile running between 285 and 300 fps but not as good as running short circuit. Going forward will just use short circuit on vertical.
