Silicon bronze filler metal melts around 1800-1900f and carbon steel melts around 2800f.
Silicon bronze is a useful rod to have in your tig arsenal because its a good rod for joining dissimilar metals.
cast iron, steel, copper, bronze, and brass can all be joint to each other using silicon bronze rod also know as Everdur.
